Create and configure service providers

Last updated: October 28, 2024

This topic describes how to create and configure iPortal service providers.

About service providers

A service provider is a set of credentials that gives access to an iProov regional platform to be used for development, test, or production. For example, a USA multi-tenant platform.

Unique names for service providers are not mandatory, however, iProov strongly suggests that you choose meaningful names that represent the intended use.

Tip

To create and modify service providers, you must be registered on iPortal, our customer engagement portal.

Recommended naming conventions

  • Direct customers: <direct customer name>.<product or use case>.<country or region>.<environment>

    For example: WaterlooBank.banking.uk.prod

  • Partners: <partner name>.<end customer name>.<product or use case>.<country or region>.<environment

  • For example: Microsoft.WaterlooBank.banking.uk.prod

Create service providers

  1. Log into iPortal: https://portal.iproov.com/.

  2. Click Service providers.

  3. Click Create a service provider.

  4. Enter a value for Service provider name.

  5. Enter a Description, for example: Waterloo Bank production SP for opening current account use case

  6. Select a Service Location. The iProov platform is available in multiple geographical regions.

Select the most appropriate to ensure minimum latency and the best user experience.

  7. Select an appropriate Environment type:

    • Production: live service provider.

    • Development: develop and test a service provider before it goes live.

    • Testing: test an implementation in a service provider.

  8. Agree to the terms and conditions and click Create.

Note

In Development and Testing environments:

  • Live production traffic is not allowed.

  • Transactions are not billable, see the fair usage policy in your contract.

Important

After you create a service provider:

  • Securely store the API key and secret key. You will not be able to retrieve this information.

  • You will also receive an oAuth username and password, which are required for user management API calls.

Additional configuration options

The additional configuration options listed below are available for service providers. Currently you cannot enable them in iPortal. Contact support (support@iproov.com) and we will enable them for you.

Assurance type

One or both of:

  • Genuine presence (default)

  • Liveness

On Validate Return Frame

Receive frames (in png format):

  • The last frame is always returned.

  • The last frame is returned as is. There are no quality checks, for example: human face check, open eyes, or the image is not blurred.

For details see Request return frames.

Verifier service providers

Important

Additional configurations are required for Verifier service providers and you must inform iProov. If not, enrollments will have the standard data retention period. After the period expires you will not be able to verify those users.
